You Let Me Down

There's always someone who let's you down at some stage in your life isn't there? So that's what this song is about, lamenting over lost love and rejection, boo hoo! Sometimes I think this song sounds like us sounding like Adam Faith sounding like Buddy Holly, it could be a late fifties pop song, in fact it probably was a late fifties pop song! We added some horn sounds to flesh it out a bit, I'm not sure if they work - maybe, I like them sometimes, then I wonder? I asked if we could end the song like Bowie's
'John I'm Only Dancing'. First 'Jean Genie,' now 'John I'm Only Dancing', well he is my hero!

Hitchcock Moments:
I sing some backing vocals and fall asleep in the recording studio chair but I don't think anyone noticed.

You Let Me Down (Pearce)

I, -I called you up, but you weren't at home
I had a feeling that you weren't alone
How could this be, how could you do this to me?
How could this love come to be?

So then I, -I looked around
But you, -you couldn't be found
You let me down you left me so down
I could of drowned

It could have been great something so great
Now it's too late just too late

Hey didn't we have a good time?
I was so sure that you - you were mine
It was so good it was something that could…
It could be so misunderstood

It could have been great something so great
Now it's too late just too late

I, -I thought that we - that we would last
That all the bad things were in the past
How could this be, how could you do this to me?
How could this love come to be?

It could have been great something so great
Now it's too late just too late
