Early in July 2006 we contacted David MacMullan at Mackey’s Music in Bristol about recording our music. We have a meeting and we leave a rough tape of a few of our songs. We book up a session.
First recording session was 22/07/06 we recorded a guide guitar track for ‘Girl in Blue’ and ‘Deportation’ with a keyboard bass and computer drums we also do guide vocals.
29/07/06: We record ‘Wonderful’ and ‘Oral Contact’ using the same process as above. David puts piano on ‘Wonderful’.
28/10/06: Ben Lowrey records guitar on the four songs above and Jake Read records drums on a ‘V Kit’
07/11/06: A short 3-hour session where Ben finishes off some guitar parts.
25/11/06: We record guide guitar for ‘$ex£Guns£Rock£Roll’, ‘That’s How It Is’, ‘Passive Aggressive’ and ‘More Senses Than One’. Jake records drums on these tracks.
16/12/06: Charlie Torrible records guitar for the tracks we did on 25/11/06.
21/12/06: Charlie finishes off guitar parts on ‘$ex£Guns£Rock£Roll’ and ‘Passive Aggressive’.
20/01/07: We record vocal parts for the songs done so far.
27/01/07: More Vocal parts.
20/02/07: We rehearse ‘Friends Re-United’, ‘You Let Me Down’, ‘I Met A Girl’ and ‘Life is Like a Wheel’ with Charlie on guitar and Jake on drums.
03/03/07: We record the four we rehearsed on 20/02/07, Charlie on guitar and bass, Jake on drums.
31/03/07: Charlie records bass on ‘Wonderful’, ‘Oral Contact’, ‘Girl in Blue’ and ‘Deportation’ also some 12 string guitar on ‘Deportation’.
14/04/07: Wendelynne records her vocals and we do other vocal parts.
15/04/07: We record ‘What if?’ and start mixing tracks.
24/04/07: We meet Samantha Gilraine and show her rough design for album cover.
12/05/07: We record last vocal parts (blessing in disguise) and do more mixing.
19/05/07: More mixing!
26/05/07: More mixing!
09/06/07: More mixing!
22/06/07: Mastering finished and we collect master copy.
03/07/07: Collect Samantha’s finished artwork.
